Legal & privacy
Updated 31 August 2026
Simple rules: be honest, protect other people’s information, pay only through approved methods, and use Help & Support when something goes wrong.
Terms of use
Khyts helps buyers find products, sellers advertise products, and the Khyts team coordinate orders. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to use it honestly and lawfully.
You are responsible for correct account details, keeping your password and verification codes private, and activity performed through your account.
Buyers must provide accurate order and delivery information.
Sellers must keep prices, descriptions, photos and stock accurate and must not list illegal, counterfeit, unsafe or misleading products.
Availability is not guaranteed until an order is accepted and confirmed.
Khyts may suspend accounts or remove content that threatens users, breaks these rules or creates legal or security risk.
Orders, payments and delivery
The price, quantity, seller and product information shown when an order is placed are saved with that order.
Only payment methods shown as available should be used. A payment is confirmed only after Khyts receives trusted confirmation from the payment provider or records cash on delivery.
Delivery cost and timing may depend on the product, seller and destination. The buyer must provide an accessible address and contact number.
An order may be cancelled when an item is unavailable, payment fails, delivery cannot be completed, or the order would break these terms.
Cancellations and refunds
Ask for cancellation as early as possible through Help & Support. Whether cancellation is possible depends on the order stage. If an item is wrong, damaged, materially different from its listing, or not delivered, report it promptly with the order number and useful evidence.
Refunds are reviewed against the order record and payment confirmation. Approved refunds are returned through an available method, and provider processing times may apply. Seller subscription payments are reviewed for duplicate charges, failed activation or another verified service failure.
Seller and content rules
Sellers may download or repost Khyts-sourced product material made available for that purpose, but may not claim ownership of Khyts branding or use the material to deceive buyers.
A seller remains responsible for content they create, stock they declare and orders they accept.
Do not upload content that is unlawful, abusive, sexually exploitative, discriminatory, fraudulent, dangerous, or that violates another person’s privacy or intellectual-property rights.
Buyer contact and order information may be used only to fulfil the related order.
Privacy policy
Khyts is responsible for personal information collected through the service. We collect only information needed to operate accounts, listings, orders, payments, support and security.
Account information: name, email address, phone numbers, verification status, profile photo and optional delivery address.
Marketplace information: listings, product photos, saved adverts, orders, delivery details and support messages.
Payment information: selected payment method, mobile number when needed, amount, status and provider transaction references. Khyts does not store card numbers in the app database.
Technical information: device push token, notification preferences, security events and audit records.
We use this information to provide the service, verify accounts, fulfil orders, process payments, prevent misuse, send requested notifications, answer support requests and meet legal duties.
Who receives information
Information is shared only as needed with the buyer, seller, authorised Khyts staff and service providers that support hosting, authentication, storage, notifications, email, SMS and payments. Current providers may include Supabase, Expo, Africa’s Talking and enabled Mobile Money providers. Khyts does not sell personal information.
Storage, security and deletion
Khyts uses access controls, private storage, encrypted connections and restricted staff permissions. No online service can promise absolute security, so users should protect their passwords and report suspected misuse.
Buyer and seller accounts can be deleted from Settings. Personal profile information, notifications, support text and seller images are removed or anonymized. Completed transaction and audit records may be retained without the user’s identity where needed for receipts, fraud prevention, disputes or legal obligations. Active orders and pending payments must be resolved first.
Your choices and questions
You may update profile information, control notification preferences, request help, reset your password or delete your account from the app. Privacy and account questions can be submitted through Help & Support after signing in.
Khyts is intended for people who can lawfully enter marketplace transactions. A parent or guardian should supervise use by anyone who is not legally able to contract. These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda and may be updated when the service or legal requirements change.
